Christa Barnell/Speed Drawing

I have a friend who's a fellow artist. I have a few actually, but one of them, her name is Christa Barnell, and she has a site here. I figured I'd tell you guys about her site so you can go check it out. She does great art.

I've noticed some artists on You Tube posting speed drawings. I'd like to do that myself before long. Right now my You Tube channel just has a Favorites section. Once I get a movie maker program and figure out how to edit videos I'll start posting speed drawings on there, maybe some slide shows, and a video version of what I do on here, posting drawings and talking about things relating to the drawing or otherwise. When that'll be, I don't know. I've subscribed to a couple artists' channels on You Tube, one of them, their channel is called Mikey's Tube. Here's one of his speed drawing videos.

Wow that is absolutely crazy! I wish I had some skills with art but I am afraid that the Good Lord didn't see fit to equip me with many of those.

This is my drawing for day 25 of Terri's "30 DAY DRAWING/ART CHALLENGE." You're supposed to draw "your favourite sweet food/candy/etc (Terri)." I have a few favorites, actually, and this is one of them. This specifically is a drawing of a fun size Twix from a Christmas variety bag. The scallop in the right circle behind the Twix is because one of the circles on the wrapper is like that. At least it looks like a circle with a scallop on the wrapper. Sword of Omens

I was watching Thundercats last night and it occurred to me, there hasn't been a show like it since, or at least not many. For one thing, the animation is very realistic and detailed. Most animated action shows nowadays have a style similar to that of Batman: the Animated Series , or anime. Those types of animation are great, but there's been nothing that looks like Thundercats since the '80s or early '90s. Another thing is, as far as I remember, there also hasn't been many animated shows like it in the fantasy genre since. I think you could probably describe it as being somewhere between Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. I know there aren't talking cat people, living in a lair shaped like a giant cat, in either of those, but it sort of has the feel of those. Third Earth sort of resembles a world like the one in Lord of the Rings, with all kinds characters, but there is also technology like in Star Wars. Art Projects

I've been thinking about ideas for art projects. I'm planning on getting The Drawing Board #13 done and posted on here within this week, or maybe Sunday of next week. I've been wanting to do an artwork as a tribute to our armed forces. I'm also thinking of doing a comic strip about Eliza Dushku. That last idea is inspired by the comics on NataliePortman.com. I'll be posting those artworks as soon as they're completed.
