Merry Christmas, 2020!

" Drawing is the root of everything, and the time spent on that is actually all profit." - Vincent Van Gogh I've been drawing a lot of smiley faces lately. I haven't drawn a lot of substantial stuff. But, I think I will try to do some more substantial art. One of my New Year's resolutions, or goals, will be to draw more in the new year. I wish everyone a merry Christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate at this time of the year. Have a good one.

Belated Happy Thanksgiving!

A Yule Log Sketch

Image
Here's a yule log sketch I did in my sketchbook tonight. It's that time of the year, a time for yule logs, or a yule log video on demand if you don't have a fireplace. Thanksgiving is about two weeks away. It's a great time of year.

New Art Blog Design

I decided to update my art blog design. It has a tiled background of some of my previous artworks. Happy Halloween!

Raymond Luxury Yacht (Pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove)

Image
"Raymond Luxury Yacht (Pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove)" Here is a picture I drew of Graham Chapman as Raymond Luxury Yacht (pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove) from Monty Python. I've been trying to get myself to start drawing in a different sketchbook. It's one that I tore pages out of that I drew on, so it had all blank pages in it. I finally drew something in it...this.

Sketchbooks

Sketchbooks are technically meant for things like rough sketches. One good reason not to do elaborate, final drawings in your sketchbook is that, if you're really happy with them, you'd be tempted to tear them out and frame them or something like that. That's especially seems like a dilemma if you're using a hard bound sketchbook. There might not be anything wrong with tearing pages out of your sketchbook, depending on how you look at it, but some people may want to keep the pages in the sketchbook.

Some Guy

"Some Guy" Here's my latest drawing. It's a cartoon character I made up. I drew him in graphite pencil and then inked him with a ball point pen.
