The Bat-Man/New Blog Design
First off, I redesigned my blog today. I think it turned out really cool. If you've been to my blog before, you can tell it's the same background and banner/header, but the rest of the design is different. It's got a sleeker look.
Now onto the drawing. I've been getting more into the golden age of Batman lately, so I decided one night to doodle Batman as he first appeared, ever. For the first three Batman stories ever, the title was The Bat-Man. This was back in the days when he occasionally carried a gun. Nowadays he relies on gadgets like his batarangs, which makes more sense for him. He's not The Punisher, he's Batman. He's not an anti-hero, he's a superhero. This was also back when his Batmobile was pretty much a regular red car. There were no fins or anything like that. Sometimes the car is depicted with a bat-shaped hood ornament, but other than that, there's nothing on it that really makes it distinguishable as the Batmobile. Batman's rogues gallery started with The Joker. I've been reading volume one of The Batman Chronicles, collecting the first comic book stories Batman ever appeared in. It's a great book. The golden age of Batman was an awesome era.
