New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated Series

There's supposed to be a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series coming to Nickelodeon at some point. It's going to be computer animated. They have a Facebook page for TMNT here. There's also a Tumblr blog for it here. So far, nothing has been done with NinjaTurtles.com. Surely they're going to do something with it. Kevin Eastman is on deviantART, where my gallery is. He's in my "Friends" section. As you might know, he's one of the creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'm more of a traditional cell-animation kind of guy, but the new TMNT series looks pretty good from the pictures they've shown on the Facebook fan page. The weapons are a little different, but it looks like they're basically the same ones they're known for. One of the turtles looks like he's missing a tooth, and Michelangelo is supposedly the smallest one of the group, whereas in previous incarnations the turtles all look to be the same size. I've done some Ninja Turtles drawings over the years. TMNT is awesome! This new series looks like it may turn out fine.

This is my drawing for day 25 of Terri's "30 DAY DRAWING/ART CHALLENGE." You're supposed to draw "your favourite sweet food/candy/etc (Terri)." I have a few favorites, actually, and this is one of them. This specifically is a drawing of a fun size Twix from a Christmas variety bag. The scallop in the right circle behind the Twix is because one of the circles on the wrapper is like that. At least it looks like a circle with a scallop on the wrapper. Art Projects

I've been thinking about ideas for art projects. I'm planning on getting The Drawing Board #13 done and posted on here within this week, or maybe Sunday of next week. I've been wanting to do an artwork as a tribute to our armed forces. I'm also thinking of doing a comic strip about Eliza Dushku. That last idea is inspired by the comics on NataliePortman.com. I'll be posting those artworks as soon as they're completed.

Sword of Omens

I was watching Thundercats last night and it occurred to me, there hasn't been a show like it since, or at least not many. For one thing, the animation is very realistic and detailed. Most animated action shows nowadays have a style similar to that of Batman: the Animated Series , or anime. Those types of animation are great, but there's been nothing that looks like Thundercats since the '80s or early '90s. Another thing is, as far as I remember, there also hasn't been many animated shows like it in the fantasy genre since. I think you could probably describe it as being somewhere between Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. I know there aren't talking cat people, living in a lair shaped like a giant cat, in either of those, but it sort of has the feel of those. Third Earth sort of resembles a world like the one in Lord of the Rings, with all kinds characters, but there is also technology like in Star Wars.
