Zentangle 5

Image
"Zentangle 5" This is my fifth Zentangle, as you can probably tell from the title. As usual, I drew random patterns. Zentangle is cool.

Zentangle 4

"Zentangle 4" Here's my fourth Zentangle artwork. The weave pattern, in the lower right square, is one I've used before doing Zentangle. I think I've also done something like that patterns in the lower left square. I've done artworks similar to Zentangle in the past. I doodled random patterns and shapes. Zentangle is a cool type of art.

It's Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

Art Books

I was thinking about art books earlier. There are a lot of great how-to books on art. They cover drawing, painting, etc. Some that come to mind for comic book artists are Comics And Sequential Art by Will Eisner, How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way by Stan Lee and John Buscema, and any book by Christopher Hart. You can learn a lot about how to draw comics from those books. Those guys are experts, and they know a lot about how to draw comics.

Zentangle 3

"Zentangle 3" This is my third Zentangle. I think I do get a good feeling when I've completed one of these. Zentangle is basically mindfulness drawing.

Zentangle 2

"Zentangle 2" This is my second Zentangle. I really like how it turned out. Zentagle is really cool. I feel like I've been doing something similar to it for some time. Zentangles are really enjoyable to do, and I plan to keep on doing them.

Beautiful Angel

I've been thinking about writing poetry lately. I talked to a friend about it, and I decided to go ahead and go to it. I haven't written poetry since high school, I think. I decided to get back into it as another way to be creative. Last night, I wrote a poem inspired by actress Eliza Dushku. Here it is: Beautiful Angel By Josh Ralls Beautiful angel With silky brown hair Beautiful brown eyes And skin so fair Beautiful soul kind and caring Courageous spirit Beautiful being, so daring Lovely is she Beautifully talented A chameleon of sorts Beautifully skillful An artist of sorts She’s a credit to humankind She’s beautiful in every way She’s got a peaceful way, I find God bless her if He may

"Zentangle" I've been reading the book, Joy of Zentangle. I did my first Zentangle last night, and here it is above. Zentangle is basically mindfulness drawing. I recommend checking out the book. With the book, you'll draw "your way to increased creativity, focus, and well-being (McNeill, cover)." Works Cited McNeill, Suzanne. Joy of Zentangle . China: Fox Chapel Publishing, 2013. Print.

Follow-up To Movie Review Of Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Last night, I posted a movie review of Captain America: The Winter Soldier . It's a great movie! If you're interested in that or any of the Marvel movies, I recommend watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC as well. It ties into the movies from Marvel Studios. So, what happens in the Marvel Studios movies may have an impact on the show. At least sometimes it does. It's a cool show!

Movie Review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

My dad and I saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier tonight. It's awesome beyond words!!! I'm never sure how much to tell about a movie without giving too much away. But, basically there's something going on in S.H.I.E.L.D. and it's up to Captain America and friends to stop it. There's lots of action, a great story, and an amazing cast. Captain America wears his, I guess they call it a stealth suit, for a good portion of the movie. But he also wears a slightly modified version of his suit from Captain America: The First Avenger for a good portion of the movie. Anthony Mackie as Falcon is awesome, and hopefully they're including him in Avengers: Age of Ultron . Samuel L. Jackson had a great part in this movie as Nick Fury. It was great to see Scarlett Johannson as Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow in it. It's great to see her get more screen time so her character can be fleshed out more. Cobie Smulders was great. And in my opinion Chris Evans always d

Joy of Zentangle

I'm going to be trying out a book titled Joy of Zentangle . It looks like it shows how to draw various patterns and things like that. I haven't started reading it yet, but it looks very cool. It looks like it will be an interesting learning experience, reading from this book and drawing what it teaches.

Geeking Out

Image
"Geeking Out" This is an Ed "Big Daddy" Roth-inspired artwork I did somewhat recently. As you can tell, it's about being a geek. I'm a geek myself. I'm into comic books, video games, etc. I love being a geek. Being a geek is cool, and fun. Being a geek is great!

Hulk

Image
"Hulk" I drew this last night. It's the Hulk! I drew him in my cartoon style.

Jack Miller, Cyborg

Image
"Jack Miller, Cyborg" I was thinking about the Marvel Comics character, Deathlok, and his appearance on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this week. I think cyborgs are really cool, so I got excited to see Deathlok on the show. Michael Peterson has become an especially interesting character lately. It was cool to see his cybernetics on last night's episode. I'm sorry to say I hadn't been watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for awhile. But, I plan to watch regularly again. And I may try to do some catching up. I believe they said last night that episodes are available on ABC's site and on TV on demand. So, I think I'll be playing catch up for awhile. This drawing is inspired by the character Deathlok. I thought it would be cool to drawing Jack Miller, from my comic strip titled The Drawing Board , if he were to become a cyborg. I think it turned out pretty cool.
